Francis F. Rustad, 76, of Beloit died Sunday, December 28, 2008 in Beloit Memorial Hospital.  She was born May 23, 1932 in Shopiere, WI to the late George & Amy (Turk) Clark.  She married Torfin ‘Rusty’ Rustad on September 2, 1950 in Beloit. He preceded her in death on April 24, 1997. 

 

Francis attended the one room school house in Shopiere. She was a wonderful homemaker and trusted babysitter. Francis worked as a Clerk in the Shopiere Store and later worked as a Cook for Beloit College.  She loved to dance and socialize with friends. Francis was an active member of the Red Hat Society, the Beloit Moose Club, the Eagles Club, the VFW and the Turtle Township Historical Committee.  She could sew anything and was an accomplished quilter. Francis will be greatly missed by all who knew her.       

 

Francis is survived by her daughter, Cinda (Dana) Martin of Rockton, two grandchildren, Matthew and Amy (fiancé, Anthony Johnson) Martin of Rockton, a brother, Harold “Buck” (Zelda) Clark of Soldiers Grove, WI, a sister, Betty Shepherd of Shopiere, two sisters-in-laws, Jane Clark of Beloit & Shirley Clark of South Beloit and many nieces, nephews,  cousins and dear friends.

 

She was preceded by her husband Rusty, her parents and a son, Jeffery, three brothers, Jerry, Fay and Henry and her brother-in-law, Bill Shepherd.

 

Francis’s Funeral Service will be 1:00 p.m. on Saturday, January 3, 2009 in the SCHOENFELD – MARK Funeral Home, 1000 Inman Parkway, Beloit WI with Pastor Norm Starks officiating. Friends will be received on Saturday at the Funeral Home from 10:00 a.m. until the time of service. Inurnment will take place in the Shopiere Cemetery at a later date. A memorial is being established in her name to benefit Breast Cancer Research. All are invited for luncheon and fellowship at Shopiere Congregational Church following Francis’s service.

 

The family would like to thank the staff at Beloit memorial Hospital, Dr. Antle and Dida for the exceptional care they gave Mom during her time of need.
